Melamet Tube Of 15gm Cream
Medical Description
Melamet cream is a skin-lightening agent used to treat mild to moderate melasma, a condition characterized by dark and discoloured patches on the skin, also called hyperpigmentation. It can also be used to lighten the appearance of senile lentigines, which are dark spots or age spots that appear in older people due to sun exposure. Melamet cream works by reducing the amount of skin pigment (melanin) that causes the darkening of the skin. It is recommended for short-term use only.
The most common side effects of Melamet cream are burning, irritation, itchiness, and redness at the application site. If any of these side effects or other symptoms that you believe are caused by this medication persist for an extended period of time, please consult your physician.
Melasma, also known as hyperpigmentation, is a condition that causes brown patches to appear on the face. These patches most prominently occur on the nose, cheeks, chin, and forehead. Some of the reasons for melasma include changes in hormone levels during pregnancy or exposure to the sun. This condition is more likely to occur in women than men.
Eukroma Plus, Melabest, Melacare cream and Clear Skin are some other medicines that combine mometasone, tretinoin and hydroquinone as active substances.
Melamet cream combines mometasone, tretinoin and hydroquinone as active substances. It suppresses the metabolic process responsible for pigmentation, which helps lighten the skin tone.
Do not use Melamet cream for a prolonged duration unless prescribed by your dermatologist, as it contains a steroid. Avoid sun exposure immediately after applying this medicine. Use this cream exactly as instructed by the doctor. It is meant for external use only. Do not ingest it.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history before using Melamet cream. Also, inform the doctor about all other topical medicines you use.
