• Respiratory Tract Infections: It is used to treat infections of the ear (otitis media), nose, and throat, including tonsillitis and pharyngitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes. It is also effective against lower respiratory infections, such as acute bacterial bronchitis and pneumonia.
• Urinary Tract Infections: This medication is indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections, such as cystitis and pyelonephritis, caused by susceptible bacteria, such as E. coli, etc.
• Typhoid Fever: It is a clinically recognized treatment for uncomplicated typhoid (enteric) fever in children and adolescents, as well as multi-drug-resistant typhoid.
• Bacterial Specificity: This antibiotic is highly stable and effective against commonly occurring pathogens, including Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, E. coli, Proteus, and Klebsiella species.

• If your child is allergic to cefixime or any of the other ingredients of Taxim-O Dry syrup.
• If your child is allergic to any other cephalosporin antibiotics including penicillin. If you are not sure about which are these medicines ask your doctor.

• Diarrhoea

Other General Warnings

• Your child has problems with the kidneys.
• Your child has severe skin adverse reactions.
• Your child has inflammation of the large intestine
• Your child ever had allergic reactions to penicillin or cephalosporins.
• Your child experiences skin redness followed by eruptions.
• Your child has diarrhoea or/and/or stomach pain even after stopping treatment with Taxim-O Dry syrup.

• Give Taxim-O Dry syrup as directed by your doctor.
• Read the label carefully before using this medication.
• For reconstitution, add boiled and cooled water slightly below the mark on the bottle or as suggested by the doctor
• Shake well and make the volume up to the given mark on the bottle.
• Use a measuring cup, spoon, or dropper for the exact quantity
• Reconstituted solutions should be used within 7 days or before the expiration date indicated on the bottle.

• Store below 25°C
• After reconstitution store in refrigerator
• Protect if from direct sunlight
• Keep it out of the reach of children

• Once the dry powder is mixed with water, the syrup must be refrigerated when not in use. Any reconstituted suspension remaining after 7 days must be discarded.
• Taxim-O can be taken with or without food.
• This medication is strictly for bacterial infections and is not effective for viral coughs, colds, the flu, vomiting, or constipation.
• Common side effects may include mild tiredness, dizziness, or diarrhea; it is important to keep your child hydrated with water or ORS if loose motions occur.
• Note the date you reconstitute the bottle on the label. Once mixed, the syrup keeps only for the short period stated on the pack and must then be discarded even if some is left.
• Shake the bottle well before every single dose, otherwise the amount of medicine in each spoonful varies.
• Measure every dose with the cup or dropper supplied, never a kitchen spoon. In a child, the difference between a household teaspoon and a measured dose is substantial.
• Complete the full course even if your child is back to normal after two or three days. Stopping early lets the infection return and encourages resistance.
• If your child vomits within about 30 minutes of a dose, ask your doctor whether to repeat it rather than deciding yourself.
• Contact your doctor if your child develops a rash, facial swelling or difficulty breathing, or if there is severe or bloody diarrhoea. Tell them about any previous reaction to penicillin or a cephalosporin before starting.
• Keep the reconstituted bottle refrigerated if the label says so, with the cap tight, and out of reach of children.

Overdose

Missed a Dose

• It is advisable to complete the course of antibiotics and not miss any doses. If you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as early as you remember.
• However, if the next dose is due in less than 6 hours, skip the missed dose and resume your regular dosing schedule.
• Do not take a double dose of the medicine to make up for a missed dose.
