Taxim injection is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, airways, skin, and genitals. It contains cefotaxime as the active component. This medicine should be used under medical supervision and for the duration that it is prescribed. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor about your detailed medical history. Taxim injection will be given to you by your doctor or nurse. Do not self-inject this medicine.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Taxim injection works, or Taxim injection itself may reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Antibiotics for treating bacterial infections (streptomycin) and water pills for treating fluid retention/high blood pressure (furosemide) when taken along with Taxim injection may affect kidney functioning.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating gout (probenecid) if you already have an existing kidney disorder.
