Description
Cytolog Tablet belong to a group of medications known as abortifacient and antiulcer medications. Its active ingredient is misoprostol. Cytolog Tablet are primarily used for medical termination of pr
egnancy and to control post-delivery bleeding. It is also used in the treatment of gastric ulcers. It can be used in the first ten weeks of pregnancy, that is, for up to 70 days after your last menstruation. Cytolog Tablet may be given alone or in combination with other medications to achieve the maximum benefit. It should only be taken after it is advised by the doctor, and as directed by them. The medicine can take 24 to 48 hours to show its effects and cause bleeding. Inform your doctor if you are using an intrauterine device or have had an ectopic pregnancy in the past. Some common side effects of this Tablet are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, cramps, and uterine bleeding.

Contraindications of Cytolog 200 MCG
- If you are hypersensitive or allergic to misoprostol or other prostaglandin analogues and other inactive substances present in Cytolog Tablet.
- If you have ulcers that are caused by taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
- If you are pregnant and do not desire medical abortion. The medication can result in birth defects, abortions, uterine rupture, etc.

Breast Feeding

No. Cytolog Tablet are not recommended for mothers who are breastfeeding. The limited studies conducted indicate that Cytolog Tablet may pass into breast milk in small amounts. Hence, it is advised to consult your doctor if you need to take Cytolog Tablet if you are breastfeeding.
Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Cytolog Tablet?
A:
No. Cytolog Tablet can cause side effects like blurry vision, confusion, and bouts of dizziness. It is advised to wait for a couple of hours before driving after taking Cytolog Tablet. The same caution should be exercised in the case of operating heavy machinery. Avoid driving in case you experience any of these symptoms and wait for them to pass.
Alcohol

Other General Warnings

- You have severe anaemia.

- You smoke regularly. This increases the risk of side effects.
- There is an increased risk of developing bacterial infections after using this medication.

Directions for Use of Cytolog 200 MCG
- Cytolog Tablet must be taken as and when directed by your doctor.
- Take Cytolog Tablet at the same time every day for optimal pharmacological effects.
- Swallow Cytolog Tablet as a whole with a glass of water. Do not break, crush or chew it. This can reduce its efficacy.
- Cytolog Tablet can be taken with or without food.
- Do not stop taking or alter the dosage of Cytolog Tablet without consulting your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines
- To avoid side effects associated with Cytolog Tablet, it is important to inform the doctor about all medicines and health supplements you are currently taking.
- Cytolog Tablet may interact with the following medicines:
- Dinoprostone (medication to prepare the cervix for induction of labour) - May overstimulate the uterus and cause tear or rupture of the cervix if not dilated properly
- Antacids containing magnesium (medication to neutralise the acid in your stomach)

- Avoid consuming grapefruit juice while you are taking Cytolog Tablet since it can change the level of medication in the blood.

Store the Cytolog Tablet at room temperature in a cool and dry area, away from sunlight. Keep it out of reach of children and pets at home. Keep Cytolog Tablet in their original packaging. Do not take medicine if it is past the expiry date and dispose of it with biomedical waste....

Overdose
If you or anyone you know has overdosed on the medication, contact your nearest hospital or your general practitioner for further advice. An overdose of Cytolog Tablet can lead to nausea, vomiting, dizziness, tremors, etc....
Missed a Dose
If you forget to take a dose of the Cytolog Tablet, take it as soon as you can. If the gap is too long or it is almost time for the next dose, skip the dose you have missed and continue the regular schedule. Do not take an extra dosage of the Cytolog Tablet to compensate.
