Uses
- Generalised anxiety disorder (uncontrolled worry and excessive anxiety)
- Major depressive disorder (a condition with a depressed mood and loss of interest in daily activities)
- Diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain (a type of nerve pain caused due to damage to peripheral nerves in diabetic patients)
- Stress Urinary incontinence (unintentionally passing urine)
- Chronic musculoskeletal pain
- Fibromyalgia (Generalised musculoskeletal pain all over the body)
Contraindications
- If you’re allergic to Duloxetine or any component of Symbal Tablet.
- If you are already on other antidepressants like Fluoxetine.
- Narrow-angle glaucoma (increase in fluid pressure inside the eye)
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure
- If you have suicidal thoughts.
- If you are on treatment with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) like Moclobemide or Linezolid
- Renal failure
- If you have any condition with increased risk of bleeding
- Uncontrolled diabetes
- Chronic inflammation of the liver or any liver failure
- If you have very low blood sodium levels
- If you have severe skin conditions or any previous history of medicine induced skin reactions in the past. This medicine can rarely cause conditions like stevens-Johnson syndrome or erythema multiforme (both are severe skin conditions)

- You are on medications like blood thinners and other medicines that interact with Symbal Tablet.
- You get thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life.
- You experience hallucinations or become aggressive and angry.
- You are experiencing severe side effects.
- You experience a drop in blood glucose levels.
- You have started taking any medicinal herbs or supplements.
- You want to stop taking Symbal Tablet.
Directions for Use
- Symbal Tablet should be used as advised by your doctor.
- The tablet should be swallowed whole along with a glass of water.
- You should not break or chew a Symbal Tablet.
- Symbal Tablet can be taken with or without food.
- Symbal Tablet should be taken at a fixed time every day to maintain a constant level of medicine in the body and achieve the desired clinical effect.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors, such as Isocarboxazid & linezolid, can lead to serotonin syndrome (a severe condition due to raised serotonin levels characterised by symptoms of agitation, increased reflexes, tremor, sweating, increased body temperature.
- Do not mix antibiotics like Norfloxacin with Symbal Tablet. The interaction between them increases the level of the Symbal tablet in the blood and can lead to symptoms of overdose.
- Blood thinners/Antiplatelet agents like Aspirin - Using Symbal Tablet together with aspirin may increase the risk of bleeding.
- Lithium and dextromethorphan - increases the risk of serotonin syndrome.
- Anti-anxiety medicines like Lorazepam - increase side effects like drowsiness and difficulty concentrating
- Opioid analgesics like Fentanyl - increases the risk of serotonin syndrome.
- Tamoxifen - Symbal Tablet may decrease the effectiveness of Tamoxifen in the treatment of breast cancer.
- Leflunomide - Leflunomide may cause liver problems, and using Symbal Tablet increases the risk.
Interactions with food items
- Tea and coffee, when consumed along with Symbal Tablet, tend to increase the blood levels of the medicine.
- Avoid grapefruit and its juice, as it may increase the blood levels of Symbal Tablet.
