Description

Serin 50 mg tablet is primarily used to treat depression. It is also used in the treatment of panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This medicine contains sertraline 50 mg in tablet

form. It belongs to a group of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) that act on the mood-elevating chemicals in the brain. The mode of action of Serin 50 mg tablets is by increasing the levels of those chemicals in the brain that are responsible for mood, thoughts of reward, and learning. Side effects of Serin 50 mg tablets include sleepiness, headache, vomiting, tremors, agitation, weight loss, anxiety and dizziness. Serin 50 mg tablets should be given with caution to those under 24 due to the increased risk of suicidal thoughts in this age group, especially those with major depressive disorder. This medicine is not given to children under six years of age. While stopping this medicine, care should be taken to withdraw it gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms of Serin 50 mg symptoms, such as agitation, headache, confusion, emotional breakdown, and electric shock-like feelings in the body.

  • If you have taken the tablet pimozide
  • If you have been diagnosed with schizophrenia
  • If you are less than six years of age
