Medical Description

Armod is used in treating excessive sleepiness caused by narcolepsy (a condition that causes excessive daytime sleepiness) or obstructive sleep apnea (periods of stopped breathing during sleep). It also helps keep one awake during scheduled working hours in people who work at night or have shift rotations preventing them from having a regular sleep routine. Armod is in a class of medications called wakefulness-promoting agents. The active ingredient is armodafinil. This medication does not cure sleep disorders and may not completely stop all your sleepiness. It should not be used in place of getting sufficient sleep. It should only be used to manage sleep disorders, not ward off tiredness or promote wakefulness. Although Armod helps treat many patients, it may sometimes be habit-forming. The risk for addiction may be higher in individuals with alcohol or substance addiction. To reduce this risk, it should be taken exactly as prescribed. It should not be taken in a larger dose or more often than prescribed.

Dosage

Overdose
