• लेबेबेट 100 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure, including high blood pressure occurring during pregnancy।
• लेबेबेट 100 Tablet is also used for angina associated with raised blood pressure, and in hospital settings for severely high blood pressure and for controlling blood pressure before surgery for a phaeochromocytoma।

• लेबेबेट 100 Tablet lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels and easing the workload on the heart at the same time।
• Take it with or just after food, at the same times each day, for the steadiest effect।
• Never stop this medicine suddenly, as blood pressure can rebound and chest pain or a heart attack may follow।
• Stand up slowly from sitting or lying down, especially in the first weeks and after any dose increase।
• Tingling of the scalp is a known effect of labetalol and usually fades with time।
• Tell your doctor immediately about wheezing or breathlessness, as this medicine is unsuitable for asthma।
• If you have diabetes, check your sugar more often, as the usual warning signs of a hypo can be masked।
• Report yellowing of the eyes or skin, dark urine or persistent nausea straight away।
• Limit alcohol, cut down on salt, stay physically active and keep to a healthy weight।
• Check your blood pressure regularly and keep a record to bring to your appointments।
• Tell any doctor, dentist or anaesthetist treating you that you take this medicine।

• लेबेबेट 100 Tablet contains labetalol, which blocks two different types of receptor at the same time। By blocking alpha-1 receptors on the walls of blood vessels, it stops those vessels from tightening, so they relax and widen and the resistance the heart pumps against falls।
• By blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart, it reduces the force and rate of each heartbeat, so the heart works less hard and needs less oxygen। This is what relieves the chest pain of angina।
• The combination lowers blood pressure more smoothly than either action alone, and because the widened blood vessels take some of the load, the heart rate slows less than it does with a conventional beta-blocker।

• Several medicines change the way लेबेबेट 100 Tablet works or add to its effect on the heart and blood pressure।
• Tell your doctor about all prescription medicines, over-the-counter remedies, herbal products and supplements you take, and mention this medicine to any doctor or dentist treating you।
• Life-threatening: Calcium channel blockers of the verapamil or diltiazem type, particularly when given by injection, can combine with labetalol to cause a dangerously slow heart rate, complete heart block or cardiac arrest। This combination requires specialist supervision and is usually avoided।
• Severe: General anaesthetics such as halothane can cause a severe fall in blood pressure and depression of heart function in someone taking labetalol। Always tell your anaesthetist before any operation।
• Severe: Other medicines that slow the heart, including digoxin, amiodarone and clonidine, add to the risk of a very slow heartbeat। Stopping clonidine while still on labetalol can cause a dangerous rebound rise in blood pressure।
• Severe: Insulin and oral antidiabetic medicines remain effective, but labetalol masks the trembling and rapid heartbeat that warn of a hypo, so low blood sugar may go unnoticed until it is severe।
• Moderate: Tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine and amitriptyline may increase tremor when taken with labetalol।
• Moderate: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen and diclofenac cause the body to retain salt and water and can blunt the blood-pressure-lowering effect।
• Moderate: Cimetidine increases the amount of labetalol reaching the bloodstream and may require a dose adjustment।
