Trapic 500mg Tab is an anti-fibrinolytic medicine used to treat and prevent excessive bleeding.
Uses of Trapic 500mg Tab
Trapic 500mg Tab uses include the treatment of heavy bleeding during the menstrual cycle. It is also useful in other bleeding conditions such as haemorrhage or blood loss from trauma, surgery, tooth removal or nose bleeds, and bleeding in patients with hereditary angioedema.
Contraindications of Trapic 500mg Tab
- An allergic reaction to tranexamic acid
- Blood clots or a history of blood clots
- Renal disease
- History of fits

Trapic 500mg Tab side effects include back pain, headache, muscle or joint pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, disturbance in vision, stomach pain, chest pain, breathing difficulty, fatigue, dizziness and coughing up blood

If you are pregnant, ask your doctor before taking this medication.

Tell your doctor before using this medicine if there is bleeding in the brain (subarachnoid haemorrhage), a history of blood clots (such as in the legs, lung, brain, eye), cardiac problems (arrhythmia, heart valve problems), problems with blood clotting, kidney problems including blood in the urine and irregular bleeding during menstruation due to unknown reasons. Regular eye check-ups should be performed on long term use.

How Does It Work?
Blood clots form in the body in response to bleeding. This medicine works by stopping the rapid breakdown of these blood clots and thereby reduces bleeding.

Your Trapic 500mg Tab dosage should be as advised by your doctor. Do not stop this medicine without completion of the full course of treatment unless directed otherwise by your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines
Drugs that interact with Trapic 500mg Tab are hormonal birth control pills which raise the risk of blood clot, and anticoagulants like warfarin and heparin which reduce the effect of this medicine.

There are no known reports of any food interaction with this medicine.

This medication should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems.

Store this medicine at room temperature in its original packaging, in a cool and dry place. Place it away from the reach of children. If the medication has expired, ask your pharmacist about its disposal method. Do not dispose of via any wastewater.
