Medical Description
Mucolite Drops are used to treat coughs with mucus in children, often associated with conditions like sore throat and asthma. They help to soothe throat irritation, clear congestion, and ease breathing. Mucolite Drops can be administered orally with or without food. However, if your child experiences an upset stomach, it's best to give the medication with food. The duration of treatment may vary depending on the severity of the child's condition.
Do not exceed the recommended dosage of this medication, as it may increase the risk of side effects and worsen the condition. Common side effects may include excessive salivation, altered taste, dry mouth, throat irritation, oral numbness, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, indigestion, and skin rash. Most of these side effects are temporary. However, consult your child's doctor immediately if any side effects persist or become bothersome.
Please provide your child's complete medical history to the doctor. This should include any previous respiratory illnesses, allergies, heart conditions, blood disorders, birth defects, airway obstructions, lung issues, sinus problems, liver impairment, or kidney dysfunction. This information is essential for adjusting dosages and planning effective treatment.
Ambrodil drops also contain ambroxol.
According to the advisory issued by the Union Health Ministry, cough and cold medications should not be prescribed or dispensed to children under two years of age. These medications are generally not recommended for children under five years old. For children above that age, any use should be based on careful clinical evaluation and close supervision.
