Domadol 100 mg Injection 2 ml is mainly used for the treatment of moderate to severe pain in adults. Domadol 100 mg Injection comes under the therapeutic classification of opioid analgesics. How Does It Work?
Domadol 100 mg Injection contains tramadol, which is a centrally acting analgesic. Domadol 100mg Injection exerts its dual mechanism of action by blocking the transmission of pain signals and by acting on chemical neurotransmitters in the brain. It binds to µ-opioid in the central nervous system. This activates pain inhibitory pathways in the central nervous system and thus reduces pain perception. It also reduces the pain signal transmission by inhibiting the reuptake of noradrenaline and serotonin, chemical neurotransmitters in the brain. Noradrenaline regulates alertness, concentration, restlessness, and anxiety, whereas serotonin carries messages between nerve cells and regulates mood and anxiety.

- Interaction with selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors like citalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, sertraline, desvenlafaxine, and venlafaxine may potentiate the effect of these medicines and increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
- Interaction with anticoagulants like warfarin can increase the risk of bleeding.
Interactions with food items
