If you have a sore throat or difficulty swallowing, don't take Isabgol. If you have Parkinson's disease, talk to your doctor before using Isabgol for your stomach. Because of its Guru (heavy) nature, a high dose of Isabgol might cause stomach heaviness if used longer than suggested.

Isabgol takes 12 to 14 hours to affect bowel movements. However, it may take weeks for high cholesterol and blood sugar levels to improve.

On an empty stomach in the morning or before bedtime is the optimum time to take Isabgol for weight loss.

Isabgol for the stomach helps protect the lining of your stomach from getting acidic. You can take 1-2 teaspoons of Isabgol with buttermilk to get relief from acidity.

If used too frequently or for too long, laxatives might become addictive. If you don't take psyllium with enough fluids, it can expand in your throat and induce choking. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help with bowel regularity.

Psyllium husk is mixed into a glass of water or fruit juice and taken as directed (about 8 ounces). After combining, drink this Isabgol for your stomach right away. With a glass of water, consume the drink whole (8 ounces). Constipation can be avoided by eating a balanced diet, drinking lots of water and engaging in frequent mild exercise.
