Zitotec 200 MCG Description

Zitotec 200mcg tablets are generally used for two main reasons - to abort a pregnancy and to stop post-pregnancy blood loss. Apart from these, it can be used to treat gastric ulcers. This medication

contains misoprostol as its chief ingredient. Zitotec 200 mcg tabs are prostaglandins. They work by increasing the contractions of the uterus and decreasing the action of the chief female hormone called progesterone, which as a result, further helps in terminating a pregnancy. This medication is generally combined with mifepristone to abort a pregnancy. It should be taken about 36-48 hours after mifepristone to stop pregnancy. Zitotec should be taken under the guidance of a gynaecologist. Zitotec 200 mcg tablets should be used after 62 days to terminate a pregnancy, starting from the first day of the last menstrual cycle.
