pel the irritants such as dust, mucous, allergens, bacteria, etc., to clear the airway and prevent infection. Leerex Syrup consists of two main components: chlorpheniramine and codeine. Chlorpheniramine belongs to the class of antihistamines, which helps in reducing allergy reactions. Codeine is a narcotic cough suppressant. The mode of action of Leerax syrup is to block the signals responsible for the stimulus that lead to cough. This syrup can cause a few common side effects: drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, etc. It is better to drink a lot of lukewarm water to help loosen the mucus and prevent dehydration. Causing decreased sweating and increasing the chances of a heat stroke is one of the side effects of Leerax syrup. This medicine is not recommended for children. Do not take this medicine with others that cause sleepiness. It is a habit-forming medicine. It can also cause dependency. Suddenly stopping this syrup can lead to withdrawal symptoms such as sweating, high heart rate, irritation, etc.

Uses of Leerex Syrup 100ml
- As per CDSCO, Leerex syrup is used to treat dry cough in conditions such as cold or allergies.
Contraindications of Leerex Syrup 100ml
- If you have an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients of Leerex Syrup.
- If you have a cough related to continuous smoking for a long time.
- If you have a cough with mucus, this syrup is ineffective in clearing the mucus from the airways.
- If you are diagnosed with chronic respiratory conditions like emphysema (collapsing of the lung, causing shortness of breath), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or similar conditions.
- If you have a previous history of medicine or alcohol addiction.
- If you currently have a severe stomach or intestinal blockage due to a condition or in general.
- If you have central nervous system depression (slow and steady decline of respiration).
- Note - It is better not to give this syrup to children or adolescents below 17 years of age without consulting a doctor, as it contains codeine, an opioid medicine, contraindicated in children.
