Avofer XT Tablet is a combination of vitamin B9 (Folic acid), and iron - two major components our body requires for optimal health. Folic acid, also known as Vitamin B9, is an essential vitamin that plays a vital role in DNA and amino acid synthesis. Iron is a vital mineral that the body requires for haemoglobin synthesis. Avofer XT is used for the prevention of iron and folic acid deficiency, which is known as anaemia, characterised by weakness, fatigue, difficulty in breathing, headache, irritability, and difficulty in concentration. It is also used as a nutritional supplement during pregnancy, breastfeeding, or in conditions of nutritional malabsorption.

A: Side effects associated with Avofer XT are skin rashes, stomach discomforts, diarrhoea, and vomiting if consumed in excess. Taking excess of this supplement can interfere with the absorption of some other nutrients like zinc and vitamin B12.

  • Antacid medicines, antibiotics such as Chloramphenicol, and medicines used to treat bone problems like Bisphosphonates should be taken with a minimum gap of two hours when consuming along with Avofer XT.
