Althrocin Oral Drops belongs to the class of antibiotic medicines known macrolides, which is used to treat specific kinds of bacterial infections. This is a higher kind of antibiotics that is not used for flu, cold or any other viral infections. The generic name of Althrocin Oral Drops is erythromycin.

Some amount of it can pass via breast milk to the infant but it is not known to cause any side effects. However, continuous monitoring of infant's health for diarrhoea is advised.

The main ingredient in the composition of Althrocin Oral Drops works on bacteria and prevents the formation of proteins which are secreted by bacteria for microbial action. Thus, the growth of the bacteria is inhibited.
