Truclave 1000 Mg Tablets

Ikon Truclave 1000 mg Tablets are a penicillin-type antibiotic combination used on a doctor's prescription for bacterial infections. Each tablet contains amoxycillin 875 mg and potassium clavulanate 125 mg. Amoxycillin stops bacteria from building the protective shield they need to survive. Potassium clavulanate reduces bacterial resistance and helps amoxycillin work better. This medicine does not work against viral infections such as the common cold.

Take 1 tablet twice daily, or use the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not chew, crush or break it.

The Truclave range includes 375 mg and 625 mg tablets, along with dry syrups, drops and injections. These are different strengths or forms and should not be used in place of Truclave 1000 mg Tablets unless prescribed by a doctor.

• A doctor may prescribe this tablet for bacterial infections affecting the lungs, ears, nasal sinuses, urinary tract, skin or soft tissue.
• It may be used for bacterial conditions such as acute tonsillitis, sinusitis, acute otitis media, bronchitis, pneumonia and urinary tract infections.
• Bone, joint and dental infections may also be managed with this medicine under a doctor's guidance.
• A doctor may consider it for certain infections associated with gynaecological surgery or bacteria that do not respond to some other antibiotics.

• The combination may help limit the growth and survival of bacteria responsible for the selected infection.
• Potassium clavulanate may improve the action of amoxycillin against some resistant bacteria.
• When taken for the prescribed duration, the medicine may support recovery from a bacterial infection.
