Panazep LS is prescribed by doctors to treat depression and anxiety disorders. Depression is a condition causing emotional and physical problems that may lead to feelings of sadness and loss of interest in the once enjoyed activities. It also causes difficulty in sleeping, anger, and loss of energy.
The two active ingredients in Panazep LS – Clonazepam and Paroxetine bring about a calming effect in the brain and elevate the mood, improve sleep, and prevent feelings of sadness and loss. Mode of Action of Panazep Ls Tablets
How Does It Work?
Panazep LS is used to treat depression and anxiety disorders. It helps elevate the mood, removing sadness, anger, and nervousness. It has two active ingredients in it - clonazepam and paroxetine.
Paroxetine belongs to a class of drugs known as Selective Serotonin Uptake Inhibitors (SSRI). It acts by increasing a mood-elevating hormone in the brain called serotonin.
The other active ingredient – clonazepam, belongs to the benzodiazepines group of medicines. It facilitates the transmission of a chemical in the brain called GABA (Gamma Amino Butyric Acid). This helps decrease the excessive nerve activity in the brain, thereby producing a calming effect on the mind....
Directions for Use of Panazep Ls Tablets
- You should use the Panazep LS tablet only under the guidance of your doctor. Your doctor shall assess your condition and recommend the dosage and the timing best suited to you.
- It can be given with or without food as its absorption is not influenced by food.
- The tablet is to be taken as a whole and not broken, chewed, or crushed.
- Read the expiry date on the strip before starting the medicine course.
- You should not stop the medicine abruptly without discussing it with your doctor.
- If you stop the medicine suddenly, you may experience withdrawal symptoms such as convulsions, shaking, nervousness, and sleeplessness. Your doctor shall reduce the dose gradually.
- The doctor shall adjust the dose of the medicine differently for elderly persons.
- Usually, the side effects of the medicine subside after a while. Talk to the doctor if the side effects stay for long, even mild.

Interactions with other medicines
- Tricyclic antidepressants such as Desipramine, risperidone, atomoxetine.
- Another antidepressant of the group called monoamine oxidase inhibitors such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine.
- Phenothiazines such as fluphenazine, promazine, thioridazine
- Certain drugs used for heart conditions such as flecainide, propafenone, rythmol
- Blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin, aspirin
- Non- steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen,
- Opioid analgesics such as tramadol
- Drugs used for convulsions such as phenytoin, phenobarbital, sodium valproate
- Medicines for high blood pressure such as metoprolol
- Narcotic drugs
Interactions with food items
- You can continue with the usual diet. Food doesn’t interfere with the absorption of this medicine.
- You can have the tablet with or without food.
- Avoid caffeine, smoking, and alcohol.
Storage and disposal of Panazep Ls Tablets
Store the medicine at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from heat and humidity. Keep out of reach of children. If there are some leftover tablets after completing the recommended course, dispose of them safely to avoid any accidental usage by children, pets, or other persons. Do not flush in the toilet....
Dosage of Panazep Ls Tablets
Overdose
Overdose of Panazep LS may happen due to accidental intake, taking double dose due to a missed dose, or repeating the dose to have more effect or consuming more tablets intentionally.
Symptoms of overdose may include low blood pressure, excessive drowsiness, confusion, comatose condition, convulsions, unsteadiness in walking, difficulty in breathing, or signs of liver or kidney damage.

Missed a Dose
