Medical Description
Azithral 250mg tablet is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in various parts of the body, including the lungs, throat, ears, airways, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It contains azithromycin, which belongs to the macrolide group of antibiotics and is effective in stopping the growth of bacteria.
Azithromycin works by inhibiting the bacteria's ability to multiply, which helps the immune system fight off the infection more effectively. This makes the Azithral 250mg tablet suitable for treating a wide range of infections caused by susceptible bacteria.
It is important to take Azithral 250 exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Complete the full course of treatment, even if you start feeling better, because stopping the medication early can lead to treatment failure or recurrence of the infection. Never adjust the dose or duration on your own.
Some common medicines that also contain azithromycin include Azee 250 tablets, Azicip 250 tablets, Azax 250 tablets, and Azithral DT 250 tablets. These alternatives work similarly and may be prescribed based on availability and the doctor’s advice.
Before starting Azithral 250mg tablet, inform your doctor about your medical history, including any liver or kidney problems, allergies, pregnancy, or breastfeeding. Also, tell your doctor about any other medications or supplements you are taking to avoid potential drug interactions.
