Jiva Anu Oil is an Ayurvedic herbal oil used as nasal drops in the traditional nasya practice. Nasya involves placing a doctor-advised amount of oil into the nostrils after preparing the face and neck. It is also known as Anu Tail, Anu Tailam or Anu Thailam.

Use only under a doctor's supervision. If advised for a morning routine, first urinate or have a bowel movement and brush your teeth. Gently massage the face and neck with plain sesame oil, avoiding the eyes and eyelids. Then apply gentle warmth by using early morning sunlight, light exercise, lukewarm water or a warm towel.

Lie facing upwards in a room without a strong breeze or excessive sunlight. A thin pillow may be placed below the neck. Instil only the number of drops advised by your doctor into each nostril. The amount depends on individual needs and the condition being managed.

• Some people may experience head sensitivity, heaviness or pin-prick pain, especially when the oil is used without prior massage and gentle warmth.

• Use only under a doctor's supervision and when specifically advised.
• Do not begin nasya or other Panchakarma practices on your own.
• Avoid performing jala neti and oil-based nasya together. Keep a gap of at least half an hour between them.
• After nasal surgery, use the oil only once the wounds have healed fully, usually around one month later, and after consulting your doctor.
• If you cannot tolerate the drops, ask your doctor whether the oil may be applied inside the nostrils as a lower-dose alternative.
