Breathe O Meter Device

Breathe-o Meter is a small, portable device that measures peak expiratory flow rate (PEFR), or how fast air is blown out after a deep breath. It uses the European Union Scale and includes a mouthpiece, pointer and scale. It may support home monitoring of lung function with a doctor's advice.

Stand up for the reading. Attach the mouthpiece to the main body. Slide the pointer to zero. Hold the meter without covering the scale, slot or holes at the end. Take a deep breath. Place the mouthpiece between your teeth and seal your lips around it without biting down. Blow out as hard and as fast as you can in one burst. Read the number where the pointer stops. Reset the pointer to zero and repeat twice. Record the highest of the three readings.
