Contraindications
- If you are hypersensitive to the medicine and develop a sudden skin rash or any other allergy.
- If you have breathing issues
- If you have myasthenia gravis (weakness and fatigue of voluntary muscles)
- If you have sleep apnea syndrome (severe sleeping disorder in which breathing stops and starts repeatedly)
- If you have severe hepatic insufficiency (liver is unable to perform its normal functions of synthesis and metabolism)
- If you have acute narrow-angle glaucoma (fluid drainage of the eye is restricted)

Directions for Use
- Valium tablets should always be consumed as per a physician’s advice.
- Do not stop the medicine abruptly without consulting your physician, as this medicine has withdrawal symptoms like headache, drowsiness, or sudden mood changes.
- This medicine should be consumed preferably with food, but in case of emergency can be consumed without food as well.
- To maintain a constant level of the medicine in the body, try taking the medicine at the same time every day.
- If due to any reason the medicine is not taken on time or missed, consume the medicine as soon as possible or at the next given time.
- Valium tablets should not be given to children under 6months of age.

Interactions with other medicines
- Valium tablets should not be taken with the following medicines as it may cause toxicity:
- Opiates like morphine, codeine
- Painkillers like aspirin
- Sedatives like barbiturates, benzodiazepines, gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB)
Interactions with food items
- Valium tablets should not be consumed with alcohol as it can increase symptoms like dizziness and drowsiness. Grapefruit or grapefruit juice should be avoided with valium as it can cause side effects like drowsiness.
