Lobet 100 mg injection is an anti-hypertensive medicine. Lowering high blood pressure is the main use of Lobet 100 mg injection. It is also used in certain conditions to lower high blood pressure aft
er chest pain or while using anaesthetics that lower blood pressure during surgery. The main component of this injection is Labetalol. It is a beta-blocker. The mode of action of Lobet 100 mg injection is to lower blood pressure and relax blood vessels. It increases the blood flow to the heart and slows down the heart rate. It can also reduce heart rate while maintaining normal cardiac output. Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, and a feeling of tightness around the skull are some of the common side effects of Lobet 100 mg injection. Follow your doctor’s directions for using Lobet 100 mg injection. It must be given by a doctor or a healthcare professional in the hospital or a clinical setting. Notify your doctor if you have a history of severe heart conditions; this injection should not be given in such cases. This injection is also not indicated if the heart rate is around 45 to 50 beats per second. Inform your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Uses of Lobet 100 MG
- As per CDSCO and USFDA, Lobet 100 mg injection is indicated for the treatment of the following conditions:
- In case of severe high blood pressure, this injection is given as an infusion with Sodium Chloride or Dextrose injection.
- Severe hypertension during pregnancy, when rapid control of blood pressure is essential.
- Hypertensive episodes following acute myocardial infarction (blocked blood vessels in the heart).
Contraindications of Lobet 100 MG
- If you have a history of serious hypersensitivity to Labetalol or similar medications. Serious allergic reactions require immediate emergency treatment with supportive measures.
- If you have uncontrolled and refractory heart failure
- If you have a low heart rate or Bradycardia (less than 45 -50 beats per minute).
- If you have a condition known as sick sinus syndrome, a type of heart block, and second or third-degree heart block.
- If you are diagnosed with decompensated cardiac insufficiency.
- If you have a history of severe breathing problems such as asthma.
- If you have low blood pressure.
- If you have untreated pheochromocytoma (tumour on adrenal glands).
- If you have metabolic acidosis.
- If you have low cardiac output. This injection should not be given to lower blood pressure after an acute heart attack or myocardial infarction.

- You have any known heart condition.
- You have a blockage in the arteries of the heart.
- You are planning to have any surgery or dental procedure, and anaesthetic medicines are used during those procedures.
- You have blood circulation disorders such as Raynaud’s syndrome (low blood flow to fingers and toes).
- Your pulse rate is either falling or fluctuating.
- You have any conditions that cause breathing problems or wheezing.
- You have kidney insufficiency (low blood flow to the kidneys).
- You are diagnosed with psoriasis, a skin condition.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Lobet 100 MG
- Lobet 100 mg injection is given to the patient in the hospital by a doctor or healthcare professional.
- Do not take this injection by yourself.
- Do not stop this injection in the middle of the treatment.
- Lobet injection is given intravenously (injected directly into the veins).
- This injection is given as an infusion mixed with normal saline or dextrose.
- Follow the instructions given by the doctor for injecting and aftercare.
- If you are having any breathing problems, rash, or swelling, inform your doctor immediately.
Interactions of Lobet 100 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Using Lobet injection along with other medicines that lower blood pressure, such as verapamil or diltiazem, can lower the influence of this injection. They should not be used together.
- If you are already taking Digitalis glycosides (medicine that increases the output force of the heart), using Lobet injection is contraindicated.
- This injection should not be used with Clonidine (which lowers blood pressure) simultaneously. It can increase the risk of rebound high blood pressure. A gap of at least a few days should be maintained....
- Inform your doctor if you are using Class I antiarrhythmic agents, e.g., disopyramide, quinidine) and amiodarone, as they should be used with caution along with Lobet injection. They can cause several problems with the heart rhythm....
- Using Lobet injection with insulin and oral antidiabetic medicines may increase the blood sugar controlling effect of these medications, leading to low blood sugar.
- Some medicines used for anaesthesia can cause reflex tachycardia (high heart rate) and increase the risk of hypotension (low blood pressure). In such cases, when Lobet injection is used, it can increase the risk of heart rhythm disorder....
- Some medications that can lower the metabolism of Lobet injection include ACE inhibitors, angiotensin-II antagonists, anxiolytics, hypnotics, diuretics, and alpha-blockers. It can result in increased levels of Lobet medicine, which can cause exaggerated side effects. Dose adjustment is required when using these medicines together....
- Several different medicines that can lower the metabolism of Lobet injection are NSAIDs, corticosteroids, oestrogen, and progesterone. These medicines can reduce the effectiveness of Lobet injection. Inform your doctor, so that the dose can be adjusted....
