Cadomer 500 MG Description
Cadomer ointment contains Cadexomer iodine, an antiseptic agent. It absorbs fluid, removes pus and dead skin from the wound area, stops bacterial growth and helps in promoting the healing of long-sta
nding wounds. This ointment can be used for pus-forming wounds like leg ulcers, diabetic ulcers, and pressure ulcers. Do not use Cadomer ointment, if you are allergic to any of its component, especially iodine. This ointment should not be used in children below 12 years of age, also in pregnant and breastfeeding women for safety concerns. Cadomer ointment is not recommended in patients with hyperactivity of the thyroid gland and patients having dry wounds. It is meant only for external application and should be applied exactly as recommended by your doctor.

Uses of Cadomer 500 MG
Contraindications of Cadomer 500 MG
- If you are allergic to any of the component of Cadomer ointment.
- If you are allergic or have iodine sensitivity.
- If you have hyperactivity of thyroid gland or thyroid-related disorders like Hashimoto's thyroiditis, grave’s disease or Non-toxic nodular goitre.
- If you have dry wounds.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- It should not be used in children under 12 years of age.
Side effects of Cadomer 500 MG
- Pain, redness and swelling around the wound within the first hour after application of Cadomer ointment.
- Allergic reaction corresponding to iodine.

- You have severe kidney-related issues.
- You have thyroid disorders and are prone to changes in thyroid metabolism.

- Patients are advised to change the dressing containing this medicine frequently as there can be chances of crust formation.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Cadomer 500 MG
- Use Cadomer ointment as directed by your doctor.
- This ointment is meant for external use only.
- Always wash your hands before and after using this medicine unless your hands are the area to be treated.
- Do not use this ointment in or around your eyes, including eyelids.
- In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.
- Apply this ointment to form a thin layer on the affected skin and surrounding areas.
Interactions of Cadomer 500 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Concomitant use of medicines containing Lithium and creams which contain mercury-based antiseptics and Cadomer ointment should be avoided.
- Since this medicine is to be used externally on the skin, it is less likely to interact with other medicines.
- However, you should always inform your doctor about all the medicine you are taking, that includes all prescribed or non-prescribed herbal medicines, dietary supplements as well as other topical treatment if you are taking for any skin disorder....
Storage and disposal of Cadomer 500 MG
- Keep Cadomer ointment out of the sight and reach of children.
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date.
- Store this medicine at a temperature below 30°C.
- Do not keep this medicine under direct sunlight.
