Description
Itromac 200 Capsule is a prescription antifungal medicine containing itraconazole 200 mg. It may be prescribed for fungal infections affecting areas such as the skin, nails, mouth, throat, lungs, or vagina. Itraconazole interferes with the formation of the fungal cell membrane, which limits fungal growth. Take this medicine only in the dose and for the duration prescribed by your doctor.
How to Use
- Take the dose and complete the duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.
- Swallow the capsule whole with water. Do not crush, chew, or open it.
- Take it immediately after a meal to support absorption.
- Avoid antacids during the 2 hours before and 1 hour after taking the capsule.
- Continue until the prescribed course is finished, even if your symptoms improve.
- If you miss a dose, take it when you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your usual schedule. Do not take extra medicine to make up for it.
Side Effects
- Common digestive effects may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, constipation, or indigestion.
- Other effects may include headache, dizziness, tiredness, swelling, or rash.
- A severe allergic reaction may cause a severe rash, tingling, difficulty breathing, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Speak to your doctor if side effects persist, worsen, or concern you. Get emergency medical help for signs of a severe allergic reaction.
Precautions and Warnings
- Do not take this medicine during pregnancy or if you could become pregnant unless your doctor specifically tells you to.
- If you are breastfeeding, discuss the possible risks and benefits with your doctor before use.
- Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, heart failure or another heart pumping problem, or weakened immunity.
- Tell your doctor about all medicines you take. Itraconazole can interact with many medicines, including certain medicines processed by the CYP3A4 enzyme, benzodiazepines, and HIV protease inhibitors.
- Avoid grapefruit and grapefruit juice because they may increase itraconazole absorption and side effects.
- Avoid alcohol because it may worsen nausea or dizziness.
- Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to itraconazole or any other ingredient.
- Children under 18 should receive it only on medical advice. Older people should use it under medical supervision.
- If dizziness or tiredness affects you, avoid driving or operating machinery until you feel better.
- If treatment lasts longer than one month, your doctor may monitor your liver with blood tests.
- Contact your doctor after an accidental overdose, particularly if you develop marked digestive problems or headache.
- Store at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and check the expiry date before use.

- Itraconazole, 200 mg: An antifungal ingredient that blocks the production of ergosterol, which fungi need to form their cell membrane. This disrupts the membrane and limits fungal growth and reproduction.
Uses

- Doctors may use it for fungal infections affecting the mouth, throat, lungs, vagina, or other body areas.
- It may be prescribed for fungal infection concerns in people with weakened immunity, including those receiving chemotherapy or long-term steroid treatment.
Benefits
- By limiting fungal growth, itraconazole may support healing from fungal infections.
- It may help relieve related symptoms such as itching, redness, and discomfort.
