BD Glideâ„¢ with TBL U40 Insulin Syringe BD Ultra-Fineâ„¢ Needle Insulin Syringe (6mm, 31G) comes with TBL needle technology for a smooth and comfortable injection experience. A thin wall allows thinner needles with better drug flow. The tri-bevel tip allows easy penetration into the skin. BD Glideâ„¢ with TBL U40 Insulin Syringe BD Ultra-Fineâ„¢ Needle Insulin Syringe (6mm, 31G) has a 6mm needle in line with the latest clinical evidence and injection technique recommendations which advocate the use of a 6-mm syringe needle for insulin injection*^.
BD syringe is designed and quality controlled to be non-allergic, non-toxic and free from harmful pyrogens. The latex-free rubber stopper has a flat plunger tip that ensures that you get the correct insulin dose every time. Each syringe should be used just once.
The scale marking of the barrel in the BD Insulin Syringe is designed for insulin concentration. 40U/ml (U-40) is coded with red colour while 100U/ml (U-100) is coded in orange colour in accordance with ISO 8537.

Uses
BD Insulin Syringes are intended for the subcutaneous injection of insulin in the treatment of Diabetes Mellitus.
Directions for Use
- To expose the plunger, twist the white cap to break the seal, then pull it off. To expose the needle, twist the red shield to break the seal, then pull STRAIGHT off, being careful not to bend the needle.
- To measure the correct dose, align the top edge of the THINLINE plunger tip with your dosage mark on the syringe scale.
- Load the correct dose of insulin.
- Hold the syringe like a pencil. Pinch up your skin and push the needle quickly through the skin at 90o (straight in) to the skin surface. Push the Insulin in with the plunger. Pull the needle out of your skin. Release the skin fold.
Storage and Disposal
Syringes should only be used once. Following the best practices to dispose of syringe waste protects you and your family at once. Using a sharps container makes sure that waste syringes don’t hurt anyone who might come in contact.
