Description
Accu-Chek Guide test strips may support at-home blood glucose checks when used with the Accu-Chek Guide blood glucose monitoring system. The strips can be used with capillary, venous, arterial or neonatal blood samples.
How to Use
- Handle the strip with clean, dry hands.
- Apply 0.6 μL of blood anywhere on the wide yellow dosing area at the edge of the strip.
- Before the test begins, a brief pause in blood application is possible. Do not add more blood after the test has started.
- If the blood drop is too small, or blood is applied after testing starts, discard the strip and repeat the test with a new strip.
- For a control test, fill the test-strip window with a drop of the meter's specific control solution instead of blood.
- Run a control test before first use, when opening a new vial, if the vial cap was left off, after dropping the meter, when a result does not match how you feel, or when checking meter or strip performance.
Features
- Uses FAD-GDH enzyme in the test-strip chemistry.
- Features palladium and gold electrodes.
- A protective coating runs along the full length of the strip.
- The blood application end has a protective layer that allows quick blood absorption while protecting the reagent inside.
- Blood can be applied anywhere on the wide yellow dosing area at the edge of the strip.
- The strip container is spill-resistant, but not spill-proof.
Precautions and Warnings
- This blood glucose monitoring system is not intended for diagnosis.
- Keep moisture and dirt away from the dosing area, as they can contaminate it.
- Keep the container upright. Strips can fall out if it is turned sideways.
- The meter does not automatically warn when strips are nearing expiry and does not lock use after strips have expired.
Comparison
Use these test strips only with the Accu-Chek Guide blood glucose monitoring system. They are not compatible with Accu-Chek Active, Accu-Chek Instant, Accu-Chek Instant S, Accu-Chek Aviva or Accu-Chek Performa systems.
