Medical Description

Zoryl-M 1 tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine. It is used to lower the raised blood glucose levels in the blood when it is not being controlled by diet and exercise. It treats Type 2 diabetes. It con

tains glimepiride and metformin as their active ingredients. Take the medicine as prescribed by the doctor, after meals. Zoryl-M 1 tablet must not be used in children below 18 years of age. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. As, it may result in increased blood sugar level and complications.

Uses of ZORYL M 1MG STRIP OF 20 TABLETS

Zoryl-M 1 tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus; when diet, exercise and Glimepiride or Metformin alone is not able to control the blood sugar levels.

Contraindications of ZORYL M 1MG STRIP OF 20 TABLETS

If you are allergic to metformin, glimepiride or other ingredients of Zoryl-M 1 tablet.
If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
If you have kidney failure or liver failure.
If you suffer from metabolic acidosis (excess acid in the body fluids) like lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis or diabetic pre-coma.
If you suffer from dehydration, severe infections, shock and injections containing iodine.
If you have or had heart, lung failure, the recent incidence of heart attack and shock.
If you are an alcoholic.

Pregnancy

Can I take Zoryl-M 1 tablet during pregnancy?

Avoid during pregnancy as it is harmful to the unborn baby. Inform the doctor if you are planning a pregnancy, he might suggest other alternatives.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Zoryl-M 1 tablet while breastfeeding?

Zoryl-M 1 tablet passes into the breast milk in small quantities which might not be harmful to the baby. If you are taking the medicine while breastfeeding, monitor the child for signs of hypoglycemia like excessive sleepiness, poor feeding, fits, difficulty in breathing or decreased body temperature.

Driving

Can I drive after consuming Zoryl-M 1 tablet?

Zoryl-M 1 tablet causes low blood sugar levels which leads to drowsiness, unconsciousness or confusion. It is dangerous while driving.
Consult the doctor whether you can drive a car if you have frequent episodes of hypoglycemia.
Keep a juice or chocolate in the car while driving, in case you start feeling the above symptoms of hypoglycemia, have the juice or chocolate.
Avoid artificial sweeteners.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol while taking Zoryl-M 1 tablet?

Avoid consuming alcohol during treatment with Zoryl-M 1 tablet.
Alcohol alters the way the medicine works. Avoid consuming alcohol on an empty stomach. It increases the risk of low blood sugar.
Excessive consumption of alcohol along with the medicine causes a complication like ketoacidosis.
