Biopin 25 MG Tablet is useful in the management of depression that is not controlled by other treatments. It is also used in the management of anxiety disorders. Dosulepin is the active ingredient of Biopin 25 MG Tablet.
Biopin 25 MG Tablet affects the action of certain chemicals such as serotonin in the brain. It decreases the abnormal and excessive activity of nerve cells, helps you calm down, and helps you be more productive.
Depression is a condition that negatively affects the way in which a person thinks or acts. The affected individual has a negative thinking process with guilt, self-doubt, or self-harm thoughts. The symptoms are so severe that they affect an individual's daily routine and work.
The symptoms of depression can vary from one individual to another. The most common symptoms of depression are constant sadness or low mood, agitation, restlessness, sleep problems, headache, chest pain, digestive problems, aching muscles, and joints.
Anxiety is the feeling of extreme fear. Anxiety disorder can cause symptoms such as feeling restless, tensed, rapid heartbeat or sweating. - If you experience sudden mood change when you are on treatment with Biopin 25 MG Tablet, report to your doctor immediately.
- If you get self-harm thoughts when you are on treatment with Biopin 25 MG Tablet; report to your doctor immediately.
- If you get suicidal thoughts when you are on treatment with Biopin 25 MG Tablet, report to your doctor immediately.
Directions for Use
- Swallow Biopin 25 MG Tablet as a whole with a glass full of water. Do not chew/ break open/ crush Biopin 25 MG Tablet.
- Take Biopin 25 MG Tablet with food or without food as advised by your doctor.
- Take Biopin 25 MG Tablet at night, at the same time, every day, as suggested by your doctor.
- Never self-medicate:
- Your doctor will conduct a thorough evaluation and prescribe Biopin 25 MG Tablet only if it is helpful to you. (Discuss your detailed medical history with your doctor, including any diseases you are suffering from, any kind of allergy, any medicines you are taking, any hereditary diseases running in your family, etc.
- Complete the entire course of treatment with Biopin 25 MG Tablet, even if you feel better. Sudden stopping could lead to worsening of the symptoms. Your doctor will gradually taper the dosage before completely stopping it.
Storage and disposal
Store Biopin 25 MG Tablet in a dry place below 30°C. Keep it away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Keep the Biopin 25 MG Tablet away from the reach of kids and pets.
Disposal
For disposing of Biopin 25 MG Tablets, hand it over to your local pharmacist/ medical shop. Do not flush or drain via the sewage line.

Overdose
If you suspect an overdose of Biopin 25 MG Tablet, contact your doctor immediately or rush to the nearest emergency department. Biopin 25 MG Tablet overdose could be a serious health emergency leading to death if not treated promptly.
Missed a Dose
If you missed taking your Biopin 25 MG Tablet dosage, take it as soon as you remember. If you remember it close to your next dose, take one dose. Do not take two doses of Biopin 25 MG Tablet simultaneously to compensate for the missed dose.
Try to take Biopin 25 MG Tablet at the same time every day as suggested by your doctor. It will avoid cases of missed doses and overdosage.
