Other Information
Description
Tynor Knee Cap With Rigid Hinge may support the management of knee instability by providing compression, firm side support and controlled knee movement. Rigid side hinges may help limit excessive side-to-side movement while allowing the knee to bend. The pull-on design has adjustable hook-and-loop closures, anti-tourniquet straps, and a bi-layered construction with a cotton inner layer and durable nylon outer layer.
How to Use
- Stand or sit with your leg straight.
- Measure around the middle of the thigh, about 6 inches above the knee.
- For Medium, choose a thigh circumference of 43 to 49 cm or 17.2 to 19.6 inches.
- If the measurement is at the upper limit of a size, choose the next larger size.
- Pull on the knee cap and adjust the hook-and-loop closures for a snug fit without excessive tightness or slipping.
Features
- Four-way stretchable tubular fabric
- 3D flat-knit compression zones
- Bilateral rigid hinges for side splinting
- Pull-on design with hook-and-loop closures
- Bi-layered construction with cotton inside and nylon outside
- Neoprene technology for thermal compression
- Anti-tourniquet strapping for grip
- Washable, durable construction designed to resist rolling over
Precautions and Warnings
- Designed for adults.
- For use after an injury or surgery, during rehabilitation, or for physical activities, follow a doctor's advice on weight bearing, walking time and brace use.
- A hinged knee cap may not be suitable for every knee problem. Some situations may need compression only, while others may need extra stability.
- Do not rely on this knee cap to prevent injuries.
Comparison
Compared with a regular knee cap, this rigid-hinge design adds side splints that may help control excessive side-to-side movement while allowing knee bending. A regular knee cap generally provides compression and warmth, whereas this design may offer extra stability when a basic sleeve is not enough. It does not prevent injuries.
Uses
- May be used to support the management of knee instability or a weak knee when extra side support is needed.
- May be used during rehabilitation after a ligament injury or knee surgery if advised by a doctor.
- May be worn for daily activities or selected physical activities when a doctor recommends added knee stability.
