• Gently clean the area.
• Place a sterile gauze pad over the wound before wrapping.
• Wrap the gauze from below the wound and move upwards.
• Overlap each layer by about half the bandage width.
• Wrap firmly without restricting circulation.
• Secure the end with adhesive tape or a clip.
• Change the bandage daily or when it becomes wet or soiled.
