Description
Castor Oil is a liquid stimulant laxative. When taken by mouth, it may help with constipation by increasing movement in the intestines and helping stools pass. A few drops may also be used for dry skin, massage, or hair care. It contains ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid that makes up about 90% of the oil.
How to Use
- For constipation, adults and children over 12 years may take 15 ml to 60 ml by mouth as a single dose.
- Children aged 2 to 12 years may take 5 ml to 15 ml by mouth once. Children under 2 years may take 1 ml to 5 ml by mouth once.
- Before a procedure, 15 ml to 60 ml may be taken by mouth once, 16 hours before the procedure.
- It may produce a bowel movement within 6 to 12 hours.
- For dry skin, massage, or hair care, a few drops may be used.
- Follow the product instructions.

Precautions and Warnings
- Do not use if you are allergic to castor oil or any ingredient in the product.
- Do not use for more than one week unless a doctor tells you to do so.
- Talk to a doctor before use if you have stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, a new change in bowel habits lasting two weeks or more, an eating disorder, a gut blockage or tear, appendicitis, inflammatory bowel disease, or an electrolyte imbalance.
- Avoid use if you have severe impaction, ulcerative colitis, or rectal fissures.
- Tell a doctor about all medicines and supplements you take, especially other stimulant laxatives. Castor oil may affect the absorption of medicines taken by mouth and may need to be taken at a different time.
- Do not use during pregnancy. If you are breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed, talk to a doctor before use.
- Stop use and contact a doctor if you have blood in your stool or cannot pass stool while using it.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store in a tightly closed bottle away from high temperatures.
