Lexilid tablet is an antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial infections. The medication is beneficial in treating severe complicated bacterial infections in areas like lungs, skin, and soft ti

ssues. The dose of the duration of this medicine varies among individuals depending on the severity and condition it is being used for. Do not take more than the prescribed dose of medication within 24 hours. If you observe any severe symptoms or have overdosed on the medication, contact your physician immediately or rush to the nearest hospital. Store the medication in a cool and dry place. Any unused or expired medication should be discarded safely. Do not discard the medication in the household or water waste.

Linezolid can cross breast milk which can result in severe complications in the infants. Hence it is contraindicated in the breastfeeding stage.

Can I drive if I have taken Lexilid tablets?

Lexilid tablets can cause dizziness; hence do not drive after taking this medication.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol after taking Lexilid tablets?

Lexilid tablets are strictly contraindicated with alcohol as they can cause CNS depression and extreme drowsiness.

Take this medication in the dose and for the duration as advised by your doctor
Do not chew, crush or break the tablet in half
Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water
Take it with or without food as advised by your doctor

Linezolid is contraindicated in patients with MAO inhibitors
Serotonin syndrome can be seen if this medication is used with anti-depressants or serotonergic agents
