Axepta tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). ADHD is a psychological condition characterised by difficulty in sustaining attention, impulsiv
e behaviour and hyperactivity. Axepta tablet contains Atomoxetine as an active ingredient. Atomoxetine works by increasing the levels of a chemical messenger called norepinephrine in the brain that controls the behaviour. Follow your doctor's instructions properly regarding the dosage and duration of the Axepta tablet. Complete the entire course of treatment and do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, as it can alleviate the symptoms and worsen the condition. Axepta tablets may increase suicidal ideation in children or adolescents. The caregiver should keep an eye on the patient's thinking, behaviour and habits, clinical worsening, and any change in any of these should be directly reported to the concerned doctor immediately.

- As per CDSCO and USFDA, Axepta tablet is used for the following:
- Treatment of ADHD
Contraindications of Axepta 40 MG
- It is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you have allergic to components present in the Axepta tablet
- If you are taking medicines like-Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) and antipsychotic medications or using other anti-anxiety or sedative medicines
- If you have narrow-angle glaucoma (increases the fluid pressure in the eyes)
- If you have an adrenal gland tumour(pheochromocytoma)
- If you have heart disease or any blood vessel condition
- If you have any urinary retention problems

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Axepta 40 MG
- Take the Axepta tablet as per the doctor’s instruction.
- Take an Axepta tablet with or without consuming food or as prescribed, regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
- Take an Axepta tablet as a whole orally with water. Do not crush the tablet or chew this medicine.
- Do not increase the dosage of Axepta tablet, even if you cannot feel its effects.
- Do not take an Axepta tablet with other medications without informing your doctor.
