Medical Description

Glimestar M2 tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medicine. It contains glimepiride and metformin as its active ingredients. It is used to treat a condition called type 2 diabetes mellitus, where the blood sugar level is above normal. This medicine decreases blood sugar levels. Take this medicine as suggested by the doctor and in the dose and duration prescribed. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. You should follow a healthy diet and regular exercise while on treatment with this medicine. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

The main side effect of Glimestar-M 2 Tablet is low blood glucose levels (hypoglycemia). Symptoms to watch for include sweating, dizziness, and shaking, and carry a fast-acting source of glucose. Regular meals are important, and alcohol should be avoided as it can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Other side effects may include taste changes, nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, headache, and upper respiratory tract infection. Some people may also gain weight while on this medication.
