Glimestar M2 tablet is an oral anti-diabetic medicine. It contains glimepiride and metformin as its active ingredients. It is used to treat a condition called type 2 diabetes mellitus, where the bloo

d sugar level is above normal. This medicine decreases blood sugar levels. Take this medicine as suggested by the doctor and in the dose and duration prescribed. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. You should follow a healthy diet and regular exercise while on treatment with this medicine. Uses of Glimestar M2 Tablets 30'S

Glimestar M2 tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus;, when diet, exercise, and glimepiride or metformin alone are not able to control the blood sugar levels adequately.

Contraindications of Glimestar M2 Tablets 30'S

If you are allergic to metformin, glimepiride, or any of the ingredients of Glimestar M2 tablet.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you have kidney failure or liver failure.
If you have any metabolic acidosis (too much acid in the body fluids) like lactic acidosis, diabetic ketoacidosis, or diabetic pre-coma.
If you have dehydration, severe infections, or shock.
If you are going to take injections containing iodine.
If you had heart or lung failure, or a recent incidence of heart attack and shock.
If you are an alcoholic.

Mode of Action of Glimestar M2 Tablets 30'S

How Does It Work?

Glimestar M2 tablet contains a combination of glimepiride and metformin as its active ingredients.
Glimepiride lowers the blood sugar level and increases the release of insulin hormone from the pancreas. Insulin supplies sugar (glucose) from the blood into the cells.
Metformin decreases the absorption of sugar in the intestine and the production of sugar by the liver.
Both of these components increase the insulin sensitivity of the body (which allows the cells of the body to use blood sugar more, thereby reducing blood sugar).

Glimestar M2 tablet should be consumed as a whole without chewing or crushing with a sufficient amount of water with food.
