The white blood cells of our body's immune system make antibodies, which help us stay healthy by warding off infections caused by pathogens, such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Sometimes, antibodies target normal healthy cells of our body by mistake, which can trigger inflammation that leads to joint or tissue damage.
