What to expect before the sample collection:

• Fasting is generally not required for the tests included in this package and blood samples can be collected at any time of the day. However, follow any specific instructions provided by your doctor.
• Inform your doctor about any medications, supplements, or recent illnesses, as some of these may influence test results.
• Stay adequately hydrated before the blood sample is collected, but avoid excessive water intake immediately before the test, as it may slightly affect certain blood parameters.
• You may wear clothing with loose or half sleeves to ensure comfortable blood sample collection.

What to expect during the sample collection:

• A trained phlebotomist will arrive at your home at the scheduled time. They will verify your identity and explain the procedure.
• You will be asked to sit comfortably while a tourniquet is placed around your upper arm to make a vein easier to locate.
• You may be asked to make a fist while the puncture site is cleaned with an antiseptic solution.
• A sterile needle will be inserted into a vein, usually in the arm, to collect the required blood sample. You may feel a brief pinprick or mild discomfort during needle insertion.
• Once the sample has been collected, the needle will be removed, and gentle pressure will be applied to the site before it is covered with a small bandage.
• Once the sample has been collected, it will be taken to the laboratory for analysis.

What to expect after the sample collection:

• You can resume your normal diet, medications, and daily activities unless your doctor has advised otherwise.
• Mild soreness or bruising at the puncture site may occur but usually resolves within a few days.
• Your doctor will interpret the results together with your symptoms, medical history, physical examination, and other investigations, as autoimmune diseases cannot be diagnosed based on blood test results alone. If required, additional tests or referral to a specialist may be recommended.
