• TSH or Thyroid Stimulating Hormone: The pituitary gland is located at the base of the brain, and it produces TSH. The TSH then triggers the thyroid gland to produce T3 and T4.
• T3: This test measures how much triiodothyronine is present in the bloodstream.
• T4: This test measures the levels of thyroxine in the blood.

If the thyroid gland produces less T3 and T4, the condition is called hypothyroidism, and if too many hormones are produced, it is called hyperthyroidism.
