Anti-mullerian hormone is produced by both men and women. In men, AMH is produced by the testes, which also produce sperm and male hormones. In women, AMH is produced by the ovarian follicles. Follicles are small fluid-filled sacs inside the ovaries which produce female hormones. Each follicle has the potential to release an egg for fertilisation. The amount of AMH present in a person depends on sex and age.
