Jaanch Post Delivery Health Check
- SummaryJaanch Post Delivery Health Check is designed to assess a new mother's overall recovery and nutritional health after childbirth. It evaluates thyroid function through Free T3, Free T4, and ultrasensitive TSH, as postpartum thyroid changes are common. It also includes an Iron Deficiency Profile and a complete blood count (Hemogram-6 Part) to screen for postpartum anaemia, a frequent concern after delivery. Key nutrients, including Calcium, Vitamin D (Total), Folate, Magnesium, and Vitamin B-12, are checked because nutritional demands increase during pregnancy and breastfeeding and may lead to deficiencies if nutritional needs are not met through diet. The package also evaluates kidney health through Serum Creatinine and liver and heart health through the SGOT-SGPT ratio and Lipid Profile. Ideal for women in the postpartum period who want to assess recovery, nutritional deficiencies, and overall health after childbirth.Read more

Know More About The Package
Overview
The Jaanch Post-Delivery Health Check package is a comprehensive health assessment for postpartum women, designed to assess certain health parameters during the postpartum period. Pregnancy, delivery, and breastfeeding can cause significant demands on the mother’s body, and some complications may become apparent months after childbirth. By assessing multiple health parameters together, this package may help identify anaemia, nutritional deficiencies, thyroid dysfunction, metabolic disorders, and other health conditions that may require further evaluation after delivery.
This package contains 59 tests that assess blood health, iron stores, blood sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, and thyroid health. It also includes tests for calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin B12, and folate, essential vitamins and minerals, which are important nutrients for maternal health. The package may be recommended for women experiencing persistent fatigue, weakness, dizziness, mood changes, unexplained weight changes, muscle cramps, hair loss, or palpitations after childbirth. Women who experienced significant blood loss, anaemia, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, or thyroid disorders during pregnancy may benefit from this package.
The package requires a blood sample, which a trained phlebotomist will collect at your home. An overnight fast of 10 to 12 hours is recommended before the blood sample collection. Your doctor will interpret the results in the context of your symptoms and pregnancy and delivery history to provide a comprehensive assessment of your health and advise appropriate treatment, nutritional supplementation, lifestyle modifications, or further evaluation, if required.
Who Should Book the Jaanch Post-Delivery Health Check Package?
This package is recommended for:
- Women who have recently given birth (within the first year after delivery) as part of routine postpartum health monitoring.
- Women who experienced significant blood loss during delivery or have symptoms suggesting anaemia or iron deficiency.
- Women diagnosed with anaemia, gestational diabetes, pre-eclampsia, or thyroid disorders during pregnancy.
- Women experiencing persistent fatigue, weakness, dizziness, breathlessness, or low energy levels after childbirth.
- Women who have mood changes, low mood, anxiety, or irritability that persist beyond the first few weeks after delivery. These symptoms require clinical assessment and should not be evaluated through blood tests alone.
- Women with unexplained weight gain or weight loss, excessive hair loss, palpitations, or sensitivity to heat or cold.
- Women experiencing muscle cramps, tingling or numbness, or bone and joint pain.
- Breastfeeding mothers who have symptoms or dietary risk factors that may warrant assessment of nutritional status.
- Women following a vegetarian or restricted diet during the postpartum period.
- Women planning a future pregnancy who wish to assess their nutritional status as advised by their doctor.
What Does This Package Detect?
This package may help detect:
- Anaemia or other abnormalities in blood counts
- Iron deficiency
- Blood count abnormalities that may occur with infection or inflammation.
- Platelet abnormalities that may require further evaluation
- Postpartum thyroiditis and other thyroid disorders that may occur during the first year after childbirth
- Diabetes and prediabetes, especially in women with a history of gestational diabetes
- Abnormal cholesterol levels
- Liver dysfunction
- Kidney dysfunction
- Calcium and magnesium imbalances that may cause muscle cramps, tingling, weakness, or affect bone and heart health
- Vitamin D deficiency that may affect bone health, muscle strength, and mood in the mother, and vitamin D levels in the breastfed baby
- Vitamin B12 and folate deficiency that may cause fatigue, anaemia, and nerve-related symptoms, and affect the growth and development of the breastfed baby
The results of this package should always be interpreted by a doctor in conjunction with your symptoms, medical history, physical examination, and, if required, additional diagnostic tests.
How to Prepare for the Jaanch Post-Delivery Health Check Package?
What to expect before the sample collection:
- Your doctor may recommend fasting for 8 to 12 hours before sample collection. You may schedule the test for the early morning.
- During the fasting period, you may drink plain water unless advised otherwise. Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours before the test, as these may temporarily affect certain test results.
- Tell your doctor about any prescription medications, over-the-counter medicines, vitamin supplements, or herbal products you take, as some may affect specific test results. Do not stop taking any prescribed medication unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so.
- If you have a fever, an ongoing infection, or have recently undergone surgery or a medical procedure, tell your doctor, as these factors may affect how certain test results are interpreted.
What to expect during the sample collection:
- The sample collection process is simple and usually takes only a few minutes.
- A trained phlebotomist will visit your home at the scheduled time. They will clean the blood draw site, usually on the inner arm, with an antiseptic swab. They will then wrap an elastic tourniquet around the upper arm to make the vein more visible. They may also gently tap on the vein.
- A small needle is then inserted to draw the blood sample, which may cause a brief pinprick or mild sting. Once the required amount is collected in a tube, the needle is removed, gentle pressure is applied, and a small bandage is placed over the site.
- If you are prone to fainting or have anxiety about needles, mention this to the phlebotomist before the sample collection. They can make the process more comfortable, such as doing the procedure while you are lying down instead of sitting up.
- You can stay calm and relaxed by breathing slowly, distracting yourself by talking with a friend or family member, or playing music to make the process smoother.
What to expect after the sample collection:
- You can resume your normal diet, medications, and activities soon after this test unless your doctor advises otherwise.
- Mild pain, bruising, or tenderness at the blood collection site may occur but typically resolves within a day or two without treatment.
- Once your samples are analysed, the reports will be uploaded to the PharmEasy platform, where you can download them.
- Share your results with your doctor. They will review and interpret them along with your symptoms, medical history, and any other investigations before recommending further evaluation, treatment, or lifestyle modifications, if required.
Note: If you notice anything unusual at the puncture site, such as persistent bleeding, a rash, or pain, consult your doctor.

Lipid profile: 10 parameters
A lipid profile may be recommended after childbirth when needed. Cholesterol and other lipid levels can remain changed for some time after pregnancy, so the timing of the test should be decided based on your health and medical history.
Women who had gestational diabetes or pre-eclampsia may have a higher long-term risk of heart and metabolic problems and may need regular cardiovascular risk assessment.

Liver function test : 3 parameters
Liver function tests after childbirth help assess liver health, particularly in women who had pregnancy-related liver conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, or acute fatty liver of pregnancy. Monitoring these enzymes may be important to determine liver health and help detect any persistent injury or medication-related effects early.

Renal tests: 2 parameters
Renal tests help evaluate kidney function, which may be affected by conditions such as pre-eclampsia, significant blood loss during delivery, infection, or pain-relief medications. Testing helps detect acute kidney injury early and confirms that kidney function is returning to normal.
