About Darolac 2.5

Darolac Capsule helps to improve the health of the intestine. It contains Lactobacillus sporogenes which are good bacteria that help prevent diarrhoea associated with antibiotic use and other infections. Avoid taking Darolac Capsule along with antibiotics, as antibiotics may make this Capsule less effective.

  • It is a probiotic which is used to treat and prevent diarrhoea associated with antibiotic use.
  • It is also used to prevent diarrhoea related to various infections.
  • Acts as an adjuvant in the management of diarrhoea associated with diseases and the use of certain medicines.

  • Darolac Capsule is a probiotic prepration containing spores of Lactobacillus sporogenes.

  • It also helps in restoring normal microbial balance of intestine after antibiotic therapy or due to diarrhoea.

Drug interactions of Darolac 2.5 with other medicine salt

Prednisolone

Moderate

Darolac capsule delivers live bacteria while the steroid Prednisolone dampens your body's defences. If your immunity is already low, the live cultures carry a small chance of slipping into the bloodstream and causing an infection.

Ciclosporin

Moderate

Darolac capsule contains live bacteria, and Ciclosporin quietens the immune system that normally keeps such bacteria in check. In someone with weak immunity this brings a small risk of the bacteria causing an infection.

Chloramphenicol

Mild

Chloramphenicol is a strong antibiotic that stops bacteria growing, and it acts on the helpful cultures in Darolac capsule as well. Used together it can knock out the probiotic, so Darolac capsule has little effect.

Ciprofloxacin

Mild

The antibiotic Ciprofloxacin works by killing bacteria, including the friendly ones that make Darolac capsule effective. Taking them at the same time leaves few live cultures behind, so most of the benefit of Darolac capsule is lost.

Doxycycline

Mild

The antibiotic Doxycycline kills bacteria and cannot tell the helpful ones in Darolac capsule from harmful ones. Taken together it destroys much of the live culture, so Darolac capsule does little of what it should.
