The full form of GM diet comes from the one who has introduced the concept. It is a 7-day weight loss plan developed by General Motors and hence the name The General Motors Diet Plan, whose pious intention was to keep employees healthy. It was also tested at the Johns Hopkins Research Center before final approval.
Proponents say that a GM diet is a low-calorie diet that can help you lose 5 to 7 kgs a week, purifies your body, improves digestion, and even makes you rest and relax.
Water is an important part of the diet, where every day you need to consume a minimum of 10 – 12 followed by General Motor diet throughout 7 days. It ensures that you eat complex carbohydrates with low-calorie foods, which can result in good weight in the span of 1 week,
One has to consume only fruits on this particular day. You can consume all fruits except bananas. The preferred ones would be watermelon and muskmelon. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water. These fresh foods should not contain starchy carbohydrates such as starch, bananas. This is because the body detoxifies on the first day of this diet. Only eat fruit and water.
Unlike the first day, when followers feel dizzy due to lack of carbohydrates and continuous fluid intake, the second day focuses more on foods that are easily digested by the gastrointestinal tract. The second day involves consuming only vegetables. Breakfast should comprise of large boiled potato mainly to provide ample energy throughout the day. Avoid consuming high glycemic index vegetables like corn or green peas and cook them either without oil or with just ½ tap of oil or ghee or butter.
Now, your body is getting used to the GM diet, and preparing for the third day isn’t that difficult, as It is also recommended to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables in every meal on the third day, including a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner, not only to keep the stomach full but also to satisfy your appetite, thereby regulating your cravings. The basic rule is to cook vegetables without any oil or minimal oil and no corn, peas, or carrots allowed.

By the 4th day, the human body had taken in sufficient amounts of fruit sugar, and plant fiber at the same time, and because of the stable appetite, it no longer will react to the taste of bananas. You will rely more on liquids and get energy from milkshakes and soups. The only rule is not to add any honey, sugar, or sweetener to the milk.
If GM dieters are allowed to consume bananas, milk, and soup on the 4th day, they will only consume beef and tomatoes on the 5th day. The only rule can be to include meat like beef, chicken, eggs, or fish. If you are a vegetarian, then include paneer, tofu, or brown rice.
On the sixth day of the GM diet, not only beef but also various types of vegetables are provided. For GM dieters, this is also considered a cheat day because they can eat any meat and vegetables of their choice.
On the remaining day of the GM weight-reduction plan, meal servings vary. While no beef or different varieties of meat can be consumed, fans of the GM Diet are allowed to devour starch from white or brown rice. But, the weight-reduction plan is going again to fruit and vegetables, which may be simpler to eat compared to Days 1 to 3.

General Motor diet promotes weight loss in a variety of ways, like encouraging to focus on more healthy and low-calorie fruits and vegetables. No added sugar or processed foods.
