How we calculate

The maths follows how these medicines are actually taken. Once-weekly injections (Mounjaro, Wegovy, Ozempic, Yurpeak) are four doses a month; a four-dose pen is roughly one month's supply, so its MRP is the monthly cost; single-dose vials need four a month. Rybelsus is a daily tablet, so a month is about 30 tablets - three strips of 10.

₹/month = pack MRP × packs needed per month.

₹/year = ₹/month × 12.

₹/dose = ₹/month ÷ 4 for weekly injections (÷ 30 for daily tablets).

First-year (titration) estimate allows for the dose starting low and stepping up over the first weeks - illustrative only.

Are the prices accurate and up to date?

The calculator uses published MRPs for August 2026, refreshed monthly. MRPs can change, and the selling price at a pharmacy can be lower. Always confirm the current price on the product page before buying.

Does the calculator tell me which dose I need?

No. It only estimates the cost of a medicine, strength and pack you choose. Your doctor decides your dose and how it is stepped up - the calculator never recommends a dose or a medicine.

Why is the first-year estimate not just 12× the monthly cost?

Because these medicines are usually started at a low dose and stepped up over the first weeks. The titration estimate adds up each month at its illustrative strength, so early months can cost less than a full maintenance month.

Does insurance cover these costs in India?

As of August 2026, health insurance generally does not cover GLP-1 medicines used for weight loss; diabetes-related coverage may differ by policy but is not guaranteed. Check your own policy wording with your insurer.
