Ozempic price by strength
The 0.25 mg pen is the usual starting dose. Your doctor will increase the dose gradually over time if needed, so your monthly treatment cost may change as your prescribed strength changes (see Ozempic dosage). That is why we provide a price range rather than a single monthly figure.
What a month of Ozempic costs
Ozempic is a once-weekly injection, so a month is about four doses. Each pre-filled pen is a multi-dose pen designed to deliver several weekly doses at its labelled strength. Typically, the 0.5 mg and 1 mg pens are meant to deliver 4 doses, whereas the 0.25 mg pen is meant to deliver 6 doses of Ozempic.
Around ₹5,660 at MRP for the starter pen, discounts may further reduce the cost. The pen is used to deliver 4 doses of 0.25 mg and 2 doses of 0.5 mg Ozempic.

Generic semaglutide options in India
Following the expiry of the semaglutide patent in India in March 2026, more than 25 generic semaglutide brands entered the market. Does insurance cover Ozempic?
In India, most standard health insurance policies are designed primarily to cover hospitalisation expenses. As a result, when prescribed on outpatient (OPD) basis, Ozempic may not be covered unless your policy includes OPD benefits, pharmacy cover, or a chronic disease management benefit.
Note: Since Ozempic is prescribed for type 2 diabetes, coverage may be available under some employer-sponsored or comprehensive health insurance plans, but this strictly varies by insurer and policy.
