Although Shilajit is popularly known to manage blood glucose levels and can have beneficial effects on lipid profile, it is not recommended to use Shilajit for the treatment of diabetes. There has been no scientific evidence on if the effects of both Shilajit (ayurvedic medicine) and prescription medicine for Type 2 diabetes are the same.
Type 2 diabetes is characterised by the inability of our body cells to utilise insulin. One of the causes of Type 2 diabetes is obesity. A healthy fat-free diet, daily exercise, a regular course of medication and regular monitoring of blood sugar levels are beneficial in treating Type 2 diabetes.

Yes, Shilajit May Help Manage Type 2 Diabetes – But Here’s What You Should Know
Shilajit, a powerful mineral-rich Ayurvedic compound found in the Himalayan mountains, has been used for centuries to balance blood sugar levels and improve metabolic health. While it’s not a cure for type 2 diabetes, research and traditional wisdom suggest that it may play a supportive role in diabetes management.
🌿 How Shilajit Helps with Type 2 Diabetes:
Improves Insulin Sensitivity:
Shilajit contains fulvic acid and over 80 trace minerals that may help your body use insulin more effectively, reducing insulin resistance — the main cause of type 2 diabetes.
Balances Blood Sugar Levels:
Studies have shown that Shilajit can help lower fasting blood glucose and HbA1c levels when taken regularly, especially alongside a healthy diet and lifestyle.
Reduces Inflammation:
Chronic inflammation is a hidden cause of many metabolic disorders, including diabetes. Shilajit’s natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties may help combat oxidative stress and inflammation.
Boosts Energy & Metabolism:
Fatigue is common in diabetic patients. Shilajit helps restore energy at the cellular level, boosting overall vitality and stamina.
