I took Dolo 650 for fever yesterday, but now my stomach feels uneasy. Is this a normal side effect?

I took Dolo 650 yesterday for fever and body pain. It helped a bit, but since morning, my stomach has felt kinda weird and uneasy, with a bit of discomfort or a gassy feeling. I don’t know if it’s because of the tablet or something I ate. Does Dolo 650 sometimes cause stomach issues? Just wondering if this is normal or if I should be worried.

    Dear Reader,

It’s good that you’re paying attention to how your body feels, and what you’re describing sounds mild and relatively common.

Dolo 650 contains paracetamol (acetaminophen), which is generally very gentle on the stomach compared to many other pain or fever medicines (like ibuprofen or diclofenac). However, in some individuals, it can still cause minor digestive discomfort, particularly when taken on an empty stomach or if the stomach is already sensitive.

    Here’s what might be happening:

Mild stomach upset, gas, or a heavy feeling can occasionally occur after taking Dolo 650.
The discomfort could also be due to something you ate, or even from the fever or body weakness itself, since illness can make digestion a bit sluggish.
Taking the tablet on an empty stomach may cause your stomach to feel more uneasy.

    What you can do:

Have light, non-spicy meals and drink plenty of water.
Try a warm drink (like ginger or mint tea) to ease the gas or discomfort.
Avoid coffee, fried foods, and oily foods for a day or two.
Next time, take Dolo after a small meal or snack instead of on an empty stomach.

As long as you don’t have severe stomach pain, vomiting, or persistent discomfort, there’s no reason to worry. These mild effects usually settle within a few hours.

If the uneasy feeling persists for more than a day or worsens, consider consulting your doctor to rule out other potential causes.
