how long does calpol 650 take to work

How long does Calpol 650 take to work? I took one tablet for the fever about an hour ago, but I still don’t feel much relief. Does it take longer to show effect, or should I wait a bit more?

    Dear Reader,

It is completely understandable to be concerned when you have a fever, and the relief is not immediate after taking medicine. Medicines containing Paracetamol, like Calpol 650, typically start working to reduce fever within about 30 to 60 minutes of consumption. Since it has been about an hour since you took the tablet, the medicine should be reaching its full effect soon, if it hasn’t already. The maximum effect usually occurs within 1 to 2 hours. Keep in mind that individual responses to medication can vary, and factors such as your body’s metabolism and the cause of the fever can influence how quickly you feel better. It is important to wait the recommended time between doses, which is usually 4 to 6 hours, and never exceed the maximum daily dose prescribed by your doctor. You may try tepid sponging. If your fever persists or increases, or if you do not feel better after a few doses, please consult your physician for guidance. Never self-medicate or self-diagnose, persistent high-grade fever can be dangerous.

    Wishing you good health.
