After using Pan 40 for 2 weeks, I got constipation and bloating. Anyone else facing this?

After using Pan 40 for around 2 weeks, I’ve started feeling constipated and bloated most of the time. Is this a normal side effect, or maybe I’m taking it for too long? Has anyone else faced this?

    Dear Reader,

Feeling constipation, bloating, or a “heavy” stomach after using Pan 40 for a couple of weeks can happen in some people. This medication reduces stomach acid, and when acid remains low for a while, digestion may slow, which can lead to these symptoms in a few individuals.

It usually isn’t dangerous, but it’s a sign that your body may not be tolerating the medicine well, especially if you’re using it daily.

A few simple things may help in the meantime:

    • Drink plenty of water
    • Add some fibre-rich foods (fruits, veggies, oats)
    • Avoid long gaps between meals.

If constipation or bloating continues, becomes uncomfortable, or feels unusual for you, it’s best to speak with your doctor. They may want to reduce the dose, switch to another acid-reducing medication, or determine whether another factor is causing the symptoms.

If you notice severe stomach pain, vomiting, or very hard stools, don’t wait; get medical advice promptly. Never take pantoprazole tablets for longer than prescribed, as unregulated use may affect gut health and absorption of various nutrients.

    Wishing you good health.
