Ayurveda has been an age-old field. Although the medicine is CSIR approved, there isn’t any mention of the FDA Approval.

There are several Ayurveda medications available claiming to cure diabetes, but there isn’t much study, research work or case reports proving the same. Be it allopathy, Ayurveda or homoeopathy, no field can cure diabetes. All of them may control or help maintain a base level.

In some cases, people do consume both Allopathic and Ayurvedic medicine together, but it can become difficult to ascertain the efficacy of either and may contraindicate. Avoid starting any Ayurvedic medicine without consulting an Ayurvedic Physician and a diabetologist. They would be in the best position to decide the efficacy and safety of this medication.

It is recommended that you should keep a check on your blood sugar levels to track the efficacy of any medication.

Uncontrolled diabetes may affect some organs of your body. The most common organs that diabetes impacts are the heart, kidneys, and blood vessels.

Having high creatinine levels doesn’t always indicate damage to the kidneys. Creatinine levels can go high in conditions such as immediately after exercise and when on a high protein diet.

However, having HbA1c on the higher side generally means inadequate control over blood sugar levels. Therefore, you should adopt a healthy lifestyle along with the prescribed medications. Here are a few tips:
To have a healthy lifestyle try to exercise daily. Depending on your age, these exercises can help best; yoga, brisk walking, jogging, and cycling.
Try to avoid oily/ junk food as much as possible and add as many fibre rich food items as possible to your diet.
Keep a check on your calorie intake and keep yourself hydrated at all times.

Ayurvedic medications may or may not show improvement in blood sugar levels, and there is no scientific evidence for the same.

However, it would be advisable to consult your treating doctor before starting any new medication. Your doctor will help to rule out any potential drug interactions with your prescribed medications.

It is important to talk to a doctor about any Ayurvedic, herbal or over-the-counter medicines you wish to take. These medicines may react with insulin or anti-diabetic medicines you may already be taking.

The management of diabetes Type-2 involves proper blood sugar control supplemented with dietary and lifestyle changes. Your doctor may advise dietary and lifestyle changes depending on your sugar levels and symptoms.

Do not self medicate or abruptly stop taking insulin or other medicines the doctor has prescribed. This may worsen your symptoms. There may not be an instant cure or remedy for diabetes, but regular exercise, yoga, healthy meals, and doctor prescribed medication can help manage the sugar levels.

An expert will have access to your medical history, recent reports of FBS (Fasting blood sugar), HbA1c (Haemoglobin A1c), and PPBS (Postprandial glucose test) tests.
This information will help your doctor to analyse and prescribe suitable prescriptions for your current condition. Making any changes to the current dosage without your doctor’s approval can be harmful.

For the future, make alterations in your lifestyle. Choose a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and regular exercise. Keeping a regular check on your blood sugar level can help.

Hair loss can have several reasons, ranging from physical and mental stress on one spectrum to diabetes on another. Losing less than 100 strands of hair a day is normal and nothing to worry about.

Diabetes may lead to significant hair loss, especially if your diabetes is not under control.
Type 2 diabetes is often diagnosed late. Hence, it might be possible that you have had high sugar levels for quite some time now but have only been diagnosed recently.

High blood sugar levels destroy the blood vessels supplying nutrients to the hair roots. Hair thinning and hair loss are common among people with diabetes. However, the hair tends to grow back naturally in most people.

Significant hair loss causing bald patches despite following a healthy lifestyle and being consistent with your medications might need some special attention from experts.

But yes, you can keep a check on your glucose levels by following a healthy lifestyle and a balanced diet. Food high in carbohydrates can raise your blood sugar level. So focus more on protein and healthy fat intake.
The government is taking steps to include Type 1 diabetics to be able to get a disability certificate; however, it’s not clear as to what states have this facility available as of now.
