IME-9 tablet is an ayurvedic formulation for diabetes. It is a blend of ayurvedic herbs like Jamun, Karela, Gudmar, Shilajit and Amra. All these herbs have been found beneficial for the body. Studies have shown positive health outcomes of all these herbs in people with diabetes.
It is important to understand that type 1 diabetes is a condition where the body cannot produce enough insulin and hence there is a lifelong need for insulin injections to manage the condition. Regular monitoring of blood sugar and routine health checkups with a diabetologist is important. You must consult your child’s doctor before giving any herbal or alternative medicine because these medicines might cause some fluctuations in blood sugar levels when taken along with the ongoing treatment for type 1 diabetes.
I would also recommend you to consult an ayurvedic doctor for treatment of type 1 diabetes and appropriate dosage for your son. They will be a more appropriate authority to answer about its use in children and its safety and effectiveness for type 1 diabetes.
